The Ilha Grande Bay, is one of the best locations on the Brazilian coast for scuba diving or snorkeling. Throughout the year we can dive in calm waters, with a pleasant temperature (23ºC) and with visibility that varies from 5 to 20 meters. The prevailing winds and atmospheric conditions suffer variations throughout the whole year. Therefore we cannot say which is the best time of the year for diving, but, without a doubt, we never stop going diving, since the location of Aquamaster is privileged in relation to the different diving points that exist in the Ilha Grande Bay. Pousada The Aquamaster Pousada offers double or single apartments. With individual bathroom, air-conditioning, bar fridge and TV. Located in a privileged area, a stone’s throw from the best diving and leisure spots of the Ilha Grande Bay and its surrounds. The diving and nautical infrastructure is superb, we have available tank recharge systems including for nitrox, modern equipment, schooners and launches/motorboats especially prepared for nautical and subaquatic activities.
The night is coming, but its charms don’t stop; the local gastronomy offered by the restaurants (floating on the water or on the mainland) on the islands, are factors that differentiate the nightlife of Angra dos Reis. To get to Aquamaster, follow the secondary road (KM 480) indicated in yellow on the map. Read the instructions below for better orientation.
GETTING HERE:
Coming from São Paulo You can take the Presidente Dutra highway (São Paulo - Rio) and after paying the toll at Resende, take the exit for Angra dos Reis that passes by Barra Mansa. This road is called Saturnino Braga and after one and a half hours, you will approach the Rio Santos highway (BR 101). Follow in the direction of Angra dos Reis. Another route coming from São Paulo is directly by the Rodovia Rio Santos highway BR 101, passing by Guaratatuba, Ubatuba and Paraty. The entrance to Aquamaster is at the 480KM marker on the Rio Santos highway, where there is a sign that says "CORREDOR TURISTICO DA ESTRADA DO CONTORNO". Enter here to the right. A hundred (100) meters on there is another sign with the same message, also indicating to make a right turn. One kilometer ahead, there is yet another sign with the same message, this time indicating to make a left turn and after two kilometers you will reach the beach "Praia da Enseada". The Aquamaster Dive Resort Pousada is located 400 meters ahead on the left hand side. ATTENTION: the main turnoff to go to the center of Angra dos Reis is at the 478 Km marker, located two kilometers after the turnoff for Aquamaster, for whoever is coming from Sao Paulo. Don’t use the main turnoff for Angra to get to Aquamaster or else you will have to travel an extra 20 kilometers.
Coming from Rio de Janeiro Take the Rodovia Rio Santos highway (BR 101) until the 481 KM marker, where there is an electronic speed control device. At this point, make a u-turn. The road for Aquamaster is one kilometer after making the u-turn (at the 480KM marker), where there is a sign that says "CORREDOR TURISTICO DA ESTRADA DO CONTORNO". Enter here to the right. A hundred (100) meters on there is another sign with the same message, also indicating to make a right turn. One kilometer ahead, there is yet another sign with the same message, this time indicating to make a left turn and after two kilometers you will reach the beach "Praia da Enseada".
